Meet Ryan Murphy, a down-to-earth, detail-oriented REALTORĀ® with nearly a decade of experience transforming overlooked properties into lucrative investments.
Originally from Harford County, MD, Ryan began his career with the Baltimore City fire department working as an emergency vehicle driver (EVD). Driving around Baltimore every day, Ryan quickly developed a deep appreciation for the cityās historic row homes.
Driven by a desire to uplift the Charm Cityās neighborhoods, Ryan eventually transitioned into collaborating with investorsābuying diamond-in-the-rough properties, renovating them, and then selling them for a tidy profit.
Over time, Ryan achieved so much success rehabbing and flipping older homes, he caught the attention of HGTV and filmed a pilot episode about his process. To date, Ryan has successfully flipped about 20 investment properties.
Today, as a valued agent with The Bob & Ronna Group, Ryan channels his expertise flipping homes into helping homebuyers, sellers, and investors.
āFirst and foremost, I can spot a good investment for my clients,ā he says. āIn todayās market, the ability to recognize real value is paramount.ā Ryan also knows a lot about what āthe bonesā of a good home should look likeāsuch as the HVAC system, the plumbing, the framing, and the electric. He says, āI can help clients steer clear of properties that could pose problems down the road.ā
Ryan sees his role as an agent with The Bob & Ronna Group as continuation of his work as a firefighter and first responder. āIn my eyes, even when Iām working with a homebuyer or a home seller, Iām still taking care of people, still working in the community. Itās a form of public service, contributing to the creation of vibrant communities.ā
Ryan distinguishes himself in the field by treating his clients like an extension of his own family. He says, āEach new client receives the same level of care and attention Iād give to my own parents. I watch out for their best interests.ā
He gives his homebuyers two big pieces of advice. First and foremost, he emphasizes the importance of a comprehensive home inspection. He says, āeven if itās just for informational purposes, a home inspection is imperative. That way, you know what youāre getting into.ā Secondly, he urges his clients to be patient, as it can prevent rash decisions that may result in costly mistakes. He says, āWhen youāre patient, it will lead you to the ideal home.ā
The Bob & Ronna Group has proven to be the perfect home for Ryan. He emphasizes, āIām so excited to be a part of this remarkable team. Theyāve achieved so much success. It helps me pass on that success to my clients.ā
With a thriving real estate career and a bustling family life with two young daughters, Ryan and his wife, Erin, treasure the little free time they have. Whether pursuing his passion for music by practicing with his band, playing ice hock, or conquering marathons, Ryan embraces lifeās many adventures.
