Meet gifted RealtorĀ® and nature lover, Lauri Clay.

Lauri’s done everything there is to do in real estate, from helping first-time home buyers to selling million-dollar properties. She got her start in real estate over 18 years ago, around the time The Bob and Ronna Group got started itself. Today, Lauri has been with The Bob and Ronna Group the longest, over 9 years. A veteran of the business, Lauri knows what’s important in a home. ā€œI want clients to find joy in their home and create those lasting memories,ā€ she says. ā€œI care about finding people the right house. I really want them to be happy,ā€ says Lauri.

If there’s anything she’s learned over the years, it’s that if a client is unsure at the viewing, they’ll be miserable by settlement. Lauri implores her buyers to keep their long-term goals in mind. You might not need an extra bedroom or a big yard now, but think about 5-10 years down the line. Are you planning on having kids? Are you a soon-to-be empty nester who needs to downsize? How long do you expect to live there? These are important factors when choosing a home. ā€œYou should always be concerned about resale,ā€ Lauri says. The ā€˜forever home’ is a romantic idea, but it’s rarely a reality.

When Lauri contemplates real estate, she says ā€œit should be more about service than sales.ā€ It’s important to Lauri that clients understand what they’re purchasing and get a good value. Lauri always asks herself: ā€œWill this property fit their needs? Are they making informed decisions?ā€ She says, ā€œIt’s my job to guide them in that effort.ā€

Before Lauri joined The Bob and Ronna Group, she and Ronna had only ever spoken briefly. ā€œShe called somewhat out of the blue,ā€ Lauri says. From there, things moved quickly and Lauri found herself on the team! ā€œThey’re wonderful people,ā€ Lauri says, ā€œI’d never do anything that wasn’t good for a client, and Bob and Ronna are the same way.ā€ It’s these common principles of care and hard work that attracted Lauri to the company and it’s why she’s still on board to this day. Of course, it doesn’t hurt that her income with Bob and Ronna rose greatly. ā€œAt the time I had two college-aged kids. I wanted to make more money… It turned out to be a blessing,ā€ says Lauri.

When she’s not at work, Lauri enjoys watching classic black and white films of the 30’s and 40’s and tending her organic vegetable garden. ā€œThere’s something soothing about digging in the dirt,ā€ she says, ā€œI don’t get a lot of time to do it, but I love having my hands in the soil.ā€ Lauri also loves feeding the local wildlife and puppysitting for her son.
