Meet Erin Bonhoffāa calm, cool, and collected REALTORĀ® with almost two decades of experience as both a buyer and sellerās agent in Harford and Baltimore counties.
Erin actually began her professional career working as an elementary school teacher in Baltimore County. But when she and her husband started a family, she left teaching to spend more time with her three children.
Then, once the youngest hit middle school, Erin began looking for a new opportunity that would combine her lifelong love of learning with something a bit more adventurous and creative. And real estate fit the bill!
Erin says, āI just love how every day Iām in a different place. And as part of my job now, I get to explore new communities and neighborhoods all over the state.ā
Of course, Erin still uses many of the skills she developed as an educatorā¦
āA lot of people donāt realize this, but teachers spend a lot of time analyzing complex data, deciphering lengthy, technical documents, and digging into research. So, now,ā she says, āI put those skills to work looking at trends in the real estate market. As an added bonus, I still get to spend a lot of time getting to know familiesāand hearing their unique stories.ā
Erin specializes in working with first-time home buyers and couples who are downsizing. āI find that my first-time home buyers and my downsizers are a lot alike. Obviously, the first-time buyers have a lot to learn. And everything is new. Whereas for my downsizers, the process has changed so much since they first bought their home. So, they both really need a lot of support. And Iām here to guide them through this new adventure at their own pace.ā
Trying to find a home at the right price pointāthat also āchecks all the boxesāācan be particularly challenging in todayās tight market. So Erin says, āI tell my clients to look at their wish list and then figure out where they would compromise.ā
She also encourages her clients to look at lots and lots of homes. āThat way, when they DO see a home they love, they donāt sit around mulling it over. Instead, theyāll recognize it right away. And theyāll be ready to jump on it!ā
Erin joined The Bob & Ronna Group after hearing their name called time and again at an industry award ceremony. āThey were definitely on my radar,ā Erin says. āThey have a superb reputation within the industry for really supporting their agents. And ultimately, by having that kind of back-end support, it allows me to focus all my time and energy on my clients.ā
In between appointments with clients, house showings, and settlements, Erin enjoys cheering on her kids at the volleyball court, wrestling mat, and baseball field. Erin sand her husband also enjoy going to community festivals in Havre De Grace and listening to live music. (They always try to catch the Zac Brown Band whenever theyāre in town.) The family also enjoys exploring all the great hiking trails near themāincluding Harford Glen, Jerusalem Mill, and Susquehanna State Parkāwith their two dogs Teddy (a Bassett Hound/Retriever mix) and Winnie (a Cavalier King Charles/Corgi mix).
