Meet Dru Yokum—a high-energy, seasoned REALTOR® with the business savvy to help homebuyers and sellers navigate the most significant financial decision of their lives.

Originally from Denver, Colorado. Dru began her career in marketing and earned an MBA from the University of Maryland. She eventually worked her way up to the position of VP of Sales & Marketing at Corinthian Colleges. Then, about six years ago, Dru began yearning for a change of pace, and some friends suggested she pursue a new career in real estate.

With such a strong background in business and a genuine love of helping people, Dru hit the ground running, quickly gaining success as both a buyer and seller’s agent in the competitive Mid-Atlantic region.

Dru says real estate tends to be complex. It involves contracts, appraisals, market assessments, strategy, and lots of small, but important details. Many home buyers, especially first-time buyers, need a lot of support through the process.

She says, “my first-time buyers are often so afraid to make a mistake. They wonder what they can afford. They worry about the market and interest rates.”

To put these new buyers at ease, Dru encourages them to bring along their parents or close friends to look at homes. They can even bring them along virtually on tours! “This way,” Dru says, “my clients and their families get to know and trust me. And it helps me understand my clients—and their needs—better.”

Home sellers, on the other hand, often have a good bit of knowledge about the process. But Dru says they have other types of concerns, like: “How can I maximize my investment,” “What’s the market doing right now,” and “What’s the right time to list my home?”

Dru also has invaluable experience with estate sales. She says, “estate sales are both a complex and emotional process because it involves selling a home that a loved one lived in. I try to be sensitive to what these grieving families are going through and make the whole experience seamless for them.”

Dru values being an integral part of The Bob & Ronna Group because “they’re just such nice people and so transparent. Plus, they give me so much administrative and marketing support. It frees me up to spend more time directly helping my clients.” Dru also thrives on collaborating with and getting to know colleagues in her field, and she’s been an active board member of the Anne Arundel County Association of Realtors for the last three years.

When not meeting with her clients and their families, Dru enjoys channeling her energy into high-intensity workouts on her peloton bike. She’s also run dozens of marathons, half marathons, and 5K races with her friends, traveling and competing in cities all around the country. Though, she says she always looks forward to coming home to the east coast and exploring all the unique restaurants and speakeasys in the Baltimore and Washington, DC area with her “tribe” of close friends.
